Getting there

Airport transfers

Taxi - The city is only 15 minutes away from the airport making a cab an inexpensive option to arrive at your accommodation or for travelling around town. The taxi rank is located centrally on the ground floor of the terminal building, just a short walk from the baggage carousels. The taxi rank is fully undercover and the waiting area is indoors for your convenience.

Shuttle - The Airport Express shuttle bus offers airport-city-airport services daily during peak periods. Cost is just $12 one way and $20 return. Tickets can be purchased from the car park customer service office located opposite the bus stop or can be pre-booked at or by calling 1300 368 897. The bus stop is located kerbside upon exiting the arrivals hall.

National Convention Centre car parking

The entrance of the car park is located on Constitution Avenue, between the National Convention Centre and Airservices Australia building.  Take the driveway with the 24 HR car parking sign, go down the ramp and turn right into the car park.

Please pay for your ticket before you exit the car park at either the pay-stations on level -1 or at Reception.

Per day Cost:

Monday to Friday

  • Up to 10 hours: $18.00
  • Entry before 5pm, up to 2 hours:  $6.00
  • Entry before 5pm, up to 4 hours:  $10.00
  • Lost ticket: $18.00


  • Entry after 5pm:  $5.00

Please note: The car park pay-stations accept cash payments only.  For all credit card payments please pay at Reception during business hours (Monday-Friday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm).

Public transport

Bus Services – Canberra's public bus service, ACTION Buses, services major tourist sites and their regular service routes link the city, through town centre interchanges, to the suburbs. To plan further ahead, telephone 13 17 10 or view ACTION's printable routes and timetables.

Taxi – A taxi rank is located at the National Convention Centre entrance. This can be booked by the complimentary taxi phone.

Venue information


A Cashcard ATM is located just inside the front entry in the foyer of the National Convention Centre.

Disability access

There is disabled access inside the NCC, as well as ramps located on the Constitution Avenue and Glebe Park entrances to the building and disabled accessible lifts in the car park.

If you require disability-specific facilities, please notify the secretariat by indicating this on your registration form.


A smart casual / business attire dress code applies for all symposium sessions. Lounge suit / cocktail dress is requested for the symposium dinner and National QUM awards.

Name badges

The wearing of identification badges is mandatory and will be required for admission to all sessions. These will be provided at the symposium registration desk upon your arrival.


It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate medical, travel and personal insurance before travelling.

Liability disclaimer

In the event of industrial disruption or other unforeseen circumstances, the symposium organisers accept no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by delegates.

No smoking policy

Delegates should be aware that smoking is not allowed in public buildings and many hotels and restaurants throughout Australia, including the symposium venue.


Free Wi-fi is available for delegates to check emails and for web browsing.
