Asthma Australia

Asthma Australia is the recognised national community voice of Australians with asthma and linked conditions and their carers.  It comprises the Asthma Foundations throughout Australia.

Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP)

The AACP is the organisation accrediting and supporting consultant pharmacists in Australia.

Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA)

AMWA is a member-based organisation comprising writers, editors and journalists who specialise in health and medicine.

Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists (ASCEPT)

ASCEPT is the peak professional society devoted to advancing excellence in clinical and experimental pharmacology and toxicology in Australasia.

Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA)

ANZCA is the principal body representing the medical specialty of anaesthesia in Australia and New Zealand and having responsibility for training, examining and awarding the qualification of Fellowship of the College.

Australian College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP)

ACNP is the only national body that represents nurse practitioners across Australia. Nurse practitioners are registered nurses who practice at an advanced level and who are authorised to use the title.

Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)

ACRRM is the peak professional association for rural medical education and training in Australia. Its core function is to determine and uphold the standards that define and govern competent unsupervised rural and remote medical practice.

Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS)

ACOSS is the peak council of the community welfare sector in Australia. It is the principal voice of low income and disadvantaged people in social and economic policy matters.

Australian Dental Association (ADA)

ADA is the peak organisation of dentists in Australia. Its aim is to encourage the health of the public and the promotion of the art and science of dentistry.

Australian General Practice Network (AGPN)

AGPN is the peak national body representing the divisions of general practice across Australia. It provides support to the divisions as well as informs the public about issues affecting general practice.

Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing

The Portfolio of Health and Ageing has a diverse set of responsibilities, but throughout there is a common purpose, which is reflected in the mission statement: 'To lead the development of Australian's Health and Ageing system.'

Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs

DVA is an Australian Government department providing administrative support to the Repatriation Commission in discharging its responsibilities to veterans, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and other entitled persons.

Australian Healthcare & Hospitals Association (AHHA)

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) is the only independent advocate for the public healthcare sector at a national level. AHHA's members deliver services in the public sector, including regional health services, hospitals, community and primary health centres, aged and extended care facilities.

Australian Nursing Federation (ANF)

ANF is the national union for nurses and the largest professional nursing organisation in Australia. Its core business is industrial and professional representation of Australian nurses.

Australian Pensioners and Superannuants Federation

The AP&SF is the national consumer voice of pensioners, older and retired people. Its basic goal is social justice and a fair deal to all - young and old - who may be affected by low income, ill health or prejudice.

Australian Postgraduate Federation in Medicine (APFM)

The APFM is a national body concerned with continuing postgraduate medical education throughout Australia. The constituent bodies of the APFM meet annually to discuss issues and exchange ideas relating to the practice and delivery of continuing medical education.

Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA)

The Australian Practice Nurses Association is a professional association run by practice nurses for practice nurses. It provides representation, support and networking for practice nurses at national, state and local levels.

Australian Private Hospitals Association

APHA is the peak organisation supporting private hospitals in Australia. It has a commitment to quality services, ethical conduct and professional health care standards.

Australian Self-Medication Industry

ASMI is the peak industry body for the Australian self-care industry, representing companies involved in the manufacture and distribution of non-prescription consumer healthcare products and related firms.

Carers Australia

Carers Australia is the national peak carer organisation in Australia. It maintains a strong policy voice in developing and evaluating government policy and service arrangements for income support, aged care, community care, disability services and related legislative program reviews.

Chronic Illness Alliance

The Chronic Illness Alliance is an alliance of organisations working with people with a range of chronic illnesses. The Alliance aims to minimise the impact of chronic illness by building a better focus on the needs of people with chronic illness in health services and in health policies.

Consumers' Health Forum of Australia (CHF)

CHF is the national peak organisation providing a voice for all health consumers. It represents a broad range of health consumers such as illness groups, disability groups and specific population groups such as youth, older people and women.

Council on the Ageing (COTA)

COTA Organisations has a pre-eminent role in representing, advocating and responding to the needs and interests of seniors throughout Australia.

Diabetes Australia

Diabetes Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation providing support for research, health services, provision of self-management products and services, and public awareness about diabetes in Australia.

Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia (FECCA)

FECCA is the Australian national peak body that promotes multiculturalism, community harmony and social justice.

Generic Medicines Industry Association (GMIA)

The Generic Medicines Industry Association (GMIA) represents the manufacturers of generic prescription pharmaceuticals listed on the PBS.

Health Consumers of Rural and Remote Australia (HCRRA)

HCRRA is a national network established to ensure that the special needs of people from rural, remote and isolated areas can have a voice in the planning, implementation and evaluation of health services in their communities.

Medical Software Industry Association (MSIA)

MSIA represents the interests of the Australian commercial software industry which develops, supplies and services information management products and services for healthcare practitioners, service providers and organisations.

Medicines Australia

Medicines Australia is the national association representing the research-based pharmaceutical industry, who discover, develop and manufacture prescription medicines.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

NACCHO is the national peak Aboriginal health body in Australia. It represents the health interests of Aboriginal communities at the national level and promotes holistic and culturally appropriate health to Aboriginal communities.

National Asthma Council of Australia (NAC)

NAC is the peak organisation to raise community awareness of the importance of asthma as a social, economic and health issue. It supports a collaborative approach towards elimination of asthma and the risks of asthma to the Australian community.

National Heart Foundation of Australia

The National Heart Foundation is a peak organisation promoting heart health in Australia. It supports funding of lifesaving research, prevention and education programs.

NSW Therapeutic Advisory Group Inc. (NSW TAG)

NSW TAG is an independent, not-for profit association which represents experts in drug therapy from the teaching hospitals in NSW.

Optometrists Association Australia

Optometrists Association Australia is the peak professional body representing optometrists in Australia. It provides a range of services to its members, including representing them and their interests to government and other bodies, and providing resources and publications to assist them in their practices. It also provides information and other services to the Australian public.

Palliative Care Australia

Palliative Care Australia is the national peak body for palliative care in Australia. Their goal is to work toward the relief of pain and suffering of dying people in Australia and the provision of the care they need.

Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA)

PSA is the national professional organisation for pharmacists in Australia providing support for training and professional standards.

Pharmacy Guild of Australia

The Guild is a national employers' organisation representing pharmacy owners. It provides ongoing support to its members by the provision of support in areas such as industrial relations, marketing, staff training, and product and economic information.

Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)

RACP is a fellowship of medical specialists who are committed to providing the highest quality of care in internal medicine and paediatrics and their sub-specialties for the people of Australia and New Zealand.

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)

RACGP is the medical college responsible for the training and professional standards of general practitioners in Australia. It is the largest medical general practitioner representative body in Australia.

Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP)

RANZCP is the principal body representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australasia and having responsibility for training, examining and awarding the qualification of Fellowship of the College to medical practitioners.

Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)

RANZCR is the leading professional organisation for the promotion of the sciences and practice of the medical specialities of Radiology and Medical Imaging (Diagnostic and Interventional) and Radiation Oncology in Australia and New Zealand.

Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA)

RCNA is the nation's leading professional organisation representing nurses from all areas of practice throughout Australia. It provides supports the provision of education and information, professional development, and high level input to health policy.

Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA)

RCPA is responsible for training and professional development of pathologists and for the promotion of the science and practice of Pathology.

Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA)

RDAA is a national peak organisation representing rural doctors. It provides support for adequate training, remuneration and professional and social support to achieve a skilled, motivated and sustainable rural medical workforce.

Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA)

SHPA is the professional body which represents pharmacists practising in Australian hospitals and similar institutions.

Therapeutic Guidelines Ltd

Therapeutic Guidelines is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to deriving guidelines for therapy from the latest world literature, interpreted and distilled by Australia's most eminent and respected experts.

Victorian Medical Postgraduate Foundation (VMPF)
