Why should I tell my health professionals which complementary medicines I’m taking? Why should I tell my health professionals which complementary medicines I’m taking?

Some complementary medicines can interact with other medicines. If you are open about any complementary medicines you take, your health professional can check whether the combination with your other medicines is safe. Sometimes your doctor may find it difficult to advise you about whether your complementary medicines are likely to interact with your other medicines. This is because such information is not readily available, even for health professionals.
