Won’t my doctor disapprove of my complementary medicines? Won’t my doctor disapprove of my complementary medicines?

Some doctors may be disapproving of complementary medicines, but many won’t. Health professionals know that many people use complementary therapies, and even if they are not convinced that all of them are effective, they will appreciate knowing about any you are taking.

Your doctor is most likely to be concerned about your safety. In order to treat you in the best way they can, they need  to know about all the medicines you use, especially if there could be an interaction between your medicines — including the complementary medicines.

For more information about interactions, see Will it mix OK with my other medicines?.
