NPS Facilitators

NPS Facilitators come from a range of healthcare backgrounds including pharmacy, nursing and medicine.

We have agreements with divisions and networks of general practice to employ an NPS facilitator to deliver a structured program of services and activities for health professionals and consumers.

Facilitator training is provided by us and includes:

• 3-day Best Practice in Educational Visiting workshops
• 2-day Small Group Skills workshop  for running small group case based discussions
• 1-day Building on Skills workshop 12-18 months after initial training
• Other skills based workshops as part of the annual 1-2 day Facilitator Forum or as required.

1-day therapeutic briefings are held in each State for each of the two new major Divisional therapeutic programs each year. NPS Facilitators also receive regular support from our staff via monthly teleconferences, a facilitator specific website, regular written communication and intermittent divisional visits.

Divisional activities are negotiated via a 4-year agreement between NPS and each division or network. To date, agreements to conduct NPS programs have been completed with nearly all divisions and networks of general practice.
