Campaigns and events
Our campaigns
At NPS we want all Australians to be medicinewise and experience the health and economic benefits this brings. We work with consumers, healthcare professionals, government and industry to improve the health of all Australians through our targeted educational campaigns.
Antibiotic resistance
Overuse and misuse of antibiotics has made it harder to treat many bacterial infections. Antibiotics are losing their power against illness-causing bacteria. Our Resistance fighter campaign provides information about antibiotics and urges all Australians to join the fight against antibiotic resistance.
Generic medicine brand choices
Knowing why you may be offered a choice of medicines is an important part of being medicinewise. The more you know about active ingredients and different medicine names, the more confident you’ll be to talk about your options and make your choice — and this will help you to get the most benefit from your medicines.
Brand choices gives you the information you need to make the right decisions about your medicines.
Why be medicinewise?
To get the best out of your medicines, it helps to understand them and to think about whether they are right for you. Our Why be medicinewise? campaign helps Australians do this by showing you how to weigh up the pros and cons of taking a medicine, helping you discuss side effects, benefits, and choices with your health professional and helping you find good-quality information.
