NPS works in collaboration with a number of national and state based community and consumer peak organisations to develop strategic directions on quality use of medicines (QUM) initiatives across Australia.
The Arthritis Foundation of NSW (Arthritis NSW) works as an advocate for people with arthritis, through activities that include promoting community awareness of arthritis and providing support and information for people with arthritis and their families. Arthritis NSW is working with NPS as part of the Community Partners program.
The Consumers Health Forum of Australia Inc, established in 1987, is Australia's leading non-government organisation representing consumers on health care issues. CHF establishes policy in consultation with its members, around 100 health consumer organisations. It provides a balance to the views of Government, industry, service providers and health professionals.
A pilot Seniors Community Quality Use of Medicines Program in multicultural communities was run in collaboration with Combined Pensioners' and Superannuants' Association of NSW Inc (CPSA). The program brought together CPSA's networks with seniors in multicultural communities in the Sydney and Wollongong regions, and experience in peer education about medicines, and NPS's expertise as Australia's peak, independent, education and information provider about medicines.
The Seniors Community Quality Use of Medicines Program is run in collaboration with COTA. The program brings together COTA's expertise in representing, advocating for and serving seniors, and NPS's expertise as Australia's independent education and information provider about medicines.
FECCA is the Australian national peak body that promotes multiculturalism, community harmony and social justice. FECCA is involved in community education, advocacy for equitable access to services and information for Australians from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, human and cultural rights. FECCA rejects racism and discrimination on any grounds and works in strategic partnerships with other organisations to build an inclusive, diverse, accepting and prosperous 21st century Australian society.
HCRRA represents the views and needs of people who live in Australia's non-metropolitan areas when health policies and service delivery methods are being developed. HCRRA provides a forum for discussion of consumer experiences and consumer issues and promotes and supports the inclusion of consumer representatives on Government and non-government bodies.
NACCHO is the national peak Aboriginal health body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) throughout Australia. An ACCHS is a primary health care service initiated and operated by the local Aboriginal community to deliver holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate health care to the community which controls it (through a locally elected Board of Management).
The work of the NRHA is based on principles of social justice and the right of all Australians, wherever they live, to comprehensive, high quality, accessible and appropriate health services. The Alliance also works to help the diverse communities of rural and remote Australia to be healthy and health-promoting places in which to live and work.
