Medicines information in rural and remote communities Medicines information in rural and remote communities

With challenges like isolation and lack of access to medical services facing the 34% of Australians living in rural and regional areas, we help people living in rural and remote areas find accurate and reliable information on medicines.

Working with seniors — rural and remote

Our work with seniors also reaches those living in regional and remote areas.

In early 2006, seniors from Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Taree, Albury, Maleney and Conondale participated in sessions to get to know their medicines. The aim is now to train more seniors who live in regional and remote Australia to be volunteer peer educators in their own area.
