Asking the right questions about new medicines

When it comes to new medicines, how do you decide if 'new' is 'better'? Every medicine has benefits and risks. When it comes to new medicines it's important to find out

  • how well it works
  • the potential side effects
  • how it compares to other treatments
  • whether it is suitable for you.

Usually published three times per year, Medicine Update helps you to answer these questions about new medicines and new PBS listings.

Medicine Update is based on an independent assessment of current information and research, conducted by the NPS in consultation with consumers and health professionals.

Each issue is about a different medicine.

Always talk to your general practitioner, specialist, pharmacist or other qualified health professional when making decisions about medicines.
