Medicines List version 2 has been released now with scheduling and reminder functions.

  • keep it up to date
  • schedule when you should take your medicines
  • turn alarms on or off as needed
  • take it with you to any medical appointments or print the list from your app
  • keep your phone with you in case of emergency — let a relative or friend know your medicine list is stored in your phone.
Remember that information you put in the 'My Details' section will also be included in the in the PDF copy that can be emailed and printed from your Medicines List app.

If you give or send this to other people (such as your health professional) they will be able to see your personal information. Check with your health professional that it is appropriate to send a Medicines List before emailing them.

How to add a medicine

How to print and email yourself a Medicines List

Once you have your medicines added into your iPhone you are able to email a PDF copy to print.

View an example of how the printable version of your Medicine List will look like in PDF.

You can also email a copy directly to your health professional — but check they are able to receive you personal information securely before you send it. Please discuss this with your health professional prior to emailing.

Steps to email yourself a copy

1. From the Medicine List screen select 'Email' in top left corner.

2. The app converts the medicines information into PDF format.

3. It will then open your email program with the PDF as an attachment. Send it to your email address you can access from a computer.

How to update if you stop a medicine or want to delete it entirely

  1. Select '+' on the right-hand side of your Medicines List.

2. Select the red circle icon next to the medicine you want to remove.

3. Select 'Remove' on the right-hand side of the medicine.

4. You will be given 2 options — 'Stop taking' or 'Delete'.

  • ‘Stop taking’ — this will remove the medicine from your medicine list. A record of this will be saved in your 'Change Log' — this holds a permanent record of changes to your medicines — you can look this up to see when you started or stopped a medicine. 
  • Delete' — all reference to that medicine will be removed, it will not be saved in your 'Change Log' changes to your medicines. Use this if you have made a mistake and want to completely remove all reference to the medicine.

Scheduling multiple reminders for a medicines on a single day

1. When updating your medicine select 'How often is it used?'.

2.From the picker select 'Customise – once a day or more'.

You can then add multiple scheduled times for that day first.

3. Select 'Edit'.

4. You can add more scheduled times to take this medicine each day by clicking 'Add new time'.

5. If the pre-populated times do not suit you can select 'Add custom alarm'.

6. Give the alarm a name and set your preferred time. This alarm time will now be saved in the pick list to select from.

Click 'Save' to go back to your medicines’ scheduled times.

Remember you can turn all alarms off if you want the medicine scheduled but don’t want a reminder.

7. If you added a wrong time you can select the red circles next to that time to delete it.

Continue to select 'Add new time' to add more per day.

Click 'Done' (top right button) when you have added all your scheduled times to take that medicine.

8. Selecting 'Back' will take you back to the medicine details to complete the remainder of your medicine details to save to your list.'
