Head-to-head comparison

A direct comparison in a clinical trial between two or more medicines.

Direct comparisons provide more reliable information about how two medicines compare. Such trials don’t always happen before a medicine is approved and made available — at this point, many medicines have been compared with placebo, but not with other medicines.
