Educational resources for hospitals
These resources were developed in consultation with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and Faculty of Pain Medicine for the APOP project (2006-07) and can be used with the APOP e-DUE audit tool to optimise postoperative pain management.
- PowerPoint feedback presentation - facilitates feedback of the evaluated data to local hospital staff. Download a guide to using the presentation.
- APOP bookmark - includes pain scales, pain assessment and a pain management plan discharge checklist. It can be laminated for use at ward stations and in bedside medication folders.
- Wall posters
Poster 1: APOP assessment - supports the message: Measure pain using a validated pain assessment tool.
Poster 2: APOP prescribing - supports the message: Ensure all patients receive safe and effective analgesia. - APOP information summary - contains evidence-based information on the five key messages of APOP. It provides a structure for interactions with hospital staff regarding these messages.
