General questions

Do I need to complete all 20 patient's data at once?

No. You can complete your data collection over any number of sessions.

How many patients are required for submission?

20 patients are required to be completed for the initial phase.

How long does it take to complete data collection for each patient?

The majority of patients will take less than 10 minutes each: from feedback from GPs from a previous audit, the majority (69%) reported it took them < 10 minutes to complete data for each patient with another 24% reporting it took 10–15 minutes.

Will I be reminded to submit my data?

You will receive an email reminder 8 weeks and 16 weeks after you have started your data collection. You will receive a final reminder email 4–8 weeks before the closing date for data submission of the Clinical e-Audit.

Who has developed the software?

Clinical e-Audit has been developed in-house by NPS.

Are there any costs for the software and any related services?

No. Clinical e-Audits are one of the education and quality assurance activities provided free of charge to Australian GPs by NPS.

Technical questions

What are the minimum system requirements?

Windows 2000 or above, 20 MB hard disk space and 256 MB RAM.

How secure is data transmission and to whom does it go?

Data submission uses Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption to transmit the data to NPS only. This is a recommended encryption method for sensitive data, such as personal health information. PKI prevents any party apart from NPS from decrypting the data.

Is Clinical e-Audit integrated with prescribing systems?

No. Clinical e-Audit is a stand-alone application.

Will Clinical e-Audit run on Windows terminal server?

Yes, you can install and run Clinical e-Audit through terminal server.

Does Clinical e-Audit work on Macintosh?

No, Clinical e-Audit does not work on Macintosh.

Does Clinical e-Audit work on Windows Vista?

Yes, you can install and run Clinical e-Audit on Vista.

Backup of data?

Clinical e-Audit data is stored locally on your computer in the folder C:\NPS\CeA. If you wish to backup your data, include this folder in your backup routine.

Have there been conflicts with any other systems?

No. Clinical e-Audit is a stand-alone application and does not interfere with your pre-installed software in any way.
