About NPS case studies

Our case studies are free educational activities for GPs, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals. Case studies present a clinical scenario accompanied by a set of questions designed to help you refine your clinical decision-making skills.

You will receive a feedback report consisting of aggregated responses that provide a snapshot of your colleagues' responses, evidence-based practice points and expert commentaries on the case. The expert commentaries are usually provided by a specialist physician and a GP with a special interest in the area.

From February 2007, NPS presents each case study in two formats: a printed version inserted with NPS News and an online version. Both versions are the same. If a participant completes both a print and online version of the same case study, only the first response processed by NPS will be counted.

Online participants who complete the case study before the feedback report is available can choose to receive their report by post or email. Online participants who complete the case study after the feedback report is available will receive their report by email. All participants who complete the printed version will receive their feedback report by post.
