Qualifying for practice incentives or CPD points from NPS case studies

Completing our case studies qualifies you for practice incentives or CPD points as follows.

If you are a GP/GP Registrar

Case studies qualify as an activity for the Quality Prescribing Initiative (QPI) of the Practice Incentives Program (PIP). The same case study only counts as one activity even if participants complete both the print and online versions.

If you are a pharmacist/intern pharmacist

NPS case studies assist pharmacists to meet the following competency standards as set out in the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Competency Standards for Pharmacists in Australia 2010:

Competency Standard 1.2 Practise to accepted standards
Competency Standard 1.3 Deliver “patient-centred” care
Competency Standard 4.2 Consider the appropriateness of prescribed medicines
Competency Standard 6.1 Assess primary health care needs
Competency Standard 6.2 Deliver primary health care
Competency Standard 7.1 Contribute to therapeutic decision-making

Qualifying for CPD points

This activity has been accredited for 1 hour of Group 2 CPD (or 2 CPD credits) suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist's CPD plan. Accredited activity
