Our clinical audits are free quality improvement activities that help GPs to review their current prescribing practice and management for patients with certain conditions, compared to current best practice guidelines.

We release our clinical audits 3 to 4 times a year.

The clinical audit process involves participating GPs:

  • identifying 10 – 20 patients who meet specified criteria of the particular audit
  • collecting data about how they manage each patient by completing data collection for each patient, and submitting it to us
  • reviewing their current practice and implementing changes in practice
  • receiving a feedback report including individual results, aggregate results of all participants' practices and an expert commentary on the aggregate results
  • recording patients' progress and identifying improvements in practice
  • reflecting on changes in management.
