Data collection and APOP (acute postoperative pain) e-DUE (drug use evaluation) audit toolsData collection and APOP (acute postoperative pain) e-DUE (drug use evaluation) audit tools

Hospitals that choose to undertake the APOP e-DUE audit may wish to consider selecting a surgical patient group of interest for inclusion. For example, particular consideration may be given to surgical types or procedures which are known to result in moderate to severe pain and/or patients who are outside the care of acute pain services (APS), or perhaps a snapshot of all surgical ward patients or day surgery patients may be undertaken on a given day.

Surgical patients who are prescribed at least one analgesic postoperatively and who require hospitalisation after their procedure for up to 48 hours may be included (although you may also include day surgery patients).
