How to import patient information leaflets into Medical DirectorHow to import patient information leaflets into Medical Director

The ‘patient education material’ feature in Medical DirectorTM includes a range of pre-existing leaflets. It also allows the user to import new patient education documents.

NPS publications suitable for patient use — known as patient information leaflets (PILs) — are available in a number of ways:

  • pre-existing within Medical DirectorTM — current versions are included in software update
  • imported by user from NPS-supplied CD or NPS website.

NPS recommends that only current PILs be given to patients. The CD and NPS website contain PILs that are current. Titles have recently been changed to make them more user-friendly, so the same PIL may now appear under a different title. To avoid confusion, you may wish to delete older versions before importing new ones. To delete, highlight the less current file, right click, then click ‘Delete’
