Q: Who can I talk to if I have an adverse reaction to my vaccination?

A: Medicines and vaccines can have side effects. See your doctor if you think you may have a side effect or an allergic reaction to a recent vaccination.

You can also call the Adverse Medicines Events (AME) Line on 1300 134 237 from anywhere in Australia (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm). AME Line pharmacists will help determine if your reaction is related to a vaccine. Your personal information will remain confidential and your privacy maintained. The side effects you report are passed on to Australia’s regulatory authority for therapeutic goods — the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) — where they will contribute to national medicine safety efforts.
