The Australian Nurse Practitioner Association (ANPA) has become National Prescribing Service Limited’s (NPS) 45th member organisation, announced NPS Chair, Dr Janette Randall.
NPS is a member-based organisation that actively encourages its members to become involved in improving its programs and services. Those members include health professional and consumer organisations with a commitment to QUM.
ANPA is the professional body that represents nurse practitioners across Australia. Nurse practitioners are an emerging health professional group which has been granted limited prescribing authority.
NPS Chair, Dr Janette Randall, said: “We are delighted that ANPA has joined our member organisations. We are confident that their involvement will enable us to build on our already strong relationship and create new partnership opportunities in the future.”
NPS and ANPA are already working together to broaden the reach and improve the provision of QUM to nurse practitioners. Working alongside Charles Darwin University’s Graduate School for Health Practice, ANPA and NPS will deliver tailored programs and training which is accessible to nurse practitioners.
ANPA’s National President, Andrew Cashin, is part of the project guidance group. “Working with NPS on this project allows access to a broad range of resources which are essential for further developing the QUM knowledge and skills of nurse practitioners,” Mr Cashin said.
Member organisations can participate in annual NPS planning meetings and are active partners in NPS programs and activities. They are asked to nominate candidates to the Board of Directors, have the opportunity to vote on resolutions at the Annual General Meeting and are periodically invited to join NPS Board Meetings.
