Registration is now open for the upcoming National Medicines Symposium (NMS) 2021 and the 2021 Choosing Wisely Australia National Meeting.
Both will be entirely virtual events, with NMS 2021 to be held on Tuesday 18 May, directly followed by the 2021 Choosing Wisely Australia National Meeting on Wednesday 19 May.
Abstract submissions for both events have now been extended by one week, with submissions now due on Monday 22 March.
Evidence is the basis of the way healthcare is delivered to get the best possible outcomes. NMS 2021 has the theme Evaluating quality use of medicines: How do we know if we are making a difference?, and program streams include collaboration with impact, measurement in practice: data and indicators, evaluating systems-based approaches to the quality use of medicines, and innovations in measurement.
With the theme Empowering consumers to choose wisely, the Choosing Wisely Australia National Meeting program streams will include building consumer confidence in shared decision making, health professionals leading by example, impact of ‘the conversation’, and changing culture in organisations and systems.
“These cross-disciplinary events bring together influential organisations, individuals and decision makers in the health sector to discuss and debate key issues around quality use of medicines and health technologies,” said NPS MedicineWise CEO Adj A/Prof Steve Morris.
“I’m pleased that the programs for both events will encourage a collaborative approach on the important issues of measuring how we deliver healthcare and consumer empowerment,” said Mr Morris.
Registration for both events is $100 for each full day online event. Anyone registering for both NMS 2021 and the Choosing Wisely Australia National Meeting before 2 April 2021 will receive an early bird reduced rate of $175 for both events. Registration includes exclusive access to recordings of the relevant events.
Abstract submissions for lightning talks and e-posters for both events close in two weeks on Monday 22 March.
