Please read this leaflet carefully before you start using Citracal Tablets.

What is in this leaflet?

Each Citracal tablet contains calcium citrate 1.19 g equivalent to calcium 250 mg.

Citracal tablets are white oval tablets embossed with 250 on one side and CITRACAL on the other.

Therapeutic indications

Citracal tablets are recommended as a source of calcium. Citracal may assist in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, in maintaining healthy bones, decreasing bone breakdown, and to stabilise bone mass. It may be a source of calcium where there is proven calcium malabsorption and hypocalcaemia.

Dosage and Administration

Take two tablets a day or as directed by your doctor.

Contraindications and Precautions

There are few precautions regarding Citracal treatment. Citracal should not be taken where a doctor has diagnosed there is hypercalcaemia or severe hypercalciuria. It should not be taken in conjunction with tetracycline antibiotics.

Side Effects

Side effects are rare and only mild gastric disturbance has been reported.

Shelf Life

Shelf life is 3 years from date of manufacture and the expiry date is stamped on the label.

Storage

The tablets should be stored below 25°C.
