NPS MedicineWise is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care through the Quality Use of Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Pathology Program to improve the way medicines and medical tests are prescribed and used (QUM grant).
The Opioid Analgesic Competency Support program will support the quality use of opioids and reduce opioid-related harms through provision of educational resources and interventions to support prescribing and dispensing competencies for health professionals in relation to opioids in surgical and emergency department settings. This program will support the implementation of the Opioid Analgesic Stewardship in Acute Pain Clinical Care Standard developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
