Jan needs to carry antibiotics with her at all times, so that she can start treatment immediately to prevent any illness becoming serious.

Because I would be, for instance, at work and I would get pneumonia during the day, because it would just pop up. I mean, there was a period where I was getting it about every six weeks, so I'd be barely over it and I'd have another bout. I just learnt that it was critical that I started medicating almost immediately ... or immediately as soon as I was sure that that was what it was. I get pleurisy occasionally too, but it's mostly pneumonia, because my recovery rate was so much quicker.
