Cultural background: Anglo-Australian

Sandy often finds it difficult to adequately limit her fluid intake because she has to take a number of oral medicines.

Sandy:

Oh just forgetting something. Because I'm a coeliac I have to watch my diet as well and the fluid intake, you have to be really careful with this dialysis.

Jacqueline:

So it's a bit of work?

Sandy:

Yeah because you have to remember you can only drink half a glass of water, you can't have too much. I'm allowed over a litre a day which is an advantage on home dialysis because if you're in a clinic you're not allowed to have that much. So often I go over.
