Associate Professor Sarah Hilmer, clinical pharmacologist and geriatrician, encourages people to talk to their doctor to make sure they need to take all of their medicines and to ask for help with taking their medicines.

Taking multiple medicines is hard and it is high risk and, if you're having trouble taking them, go and talk to your doctor. Talk to your doctor about whether you really need to be taking all these medicines and whether there is anything they can do to either simplify how you take them or what medicines you take and talk to them also about whether there’s anything you can do to actually help you with the process of taking the medicines.
